Weather: Sunny, low 30s, hi 50s
Woke up around 7:30 and waited for my turn to get change. That rollaway bed was shxtty soft. Didn't have a good sleep all night long after arriving after midnight(sorry guy and gals for keeping you all up so late).
We walked up to the shop at the bottom of the resort -- Ski Heavenly. Beginning class + equip ($40) + lift ticket ($59) for $130. Not too bad, actually $30 cheaper than they post it online. So snowboard lesson = 130 - 40 - 59 = $31, not bad at all.
After getting my snowboard and boots (hard to walk on with the boots, the guy tied them too tight), and my class won't start until 10:45, and we got everything done by 10. We decided to took the cable car up to the mountain. WoW, nice view baby. It's quite a ride to get to the lift up on the mountain, I say about 10 minutes ride. Along the ride, I didn't see much snow. Where are the snow???
After we got off the cable car and walked on the snow, I realized I lost my left hand glove. Oh well, forget it, I don't need no gloves. As soon as we off to the stairs,a professional photographers walked up to us offering to take a few pictures for us. SCAM!!! LOL. After taking a few man pile pictures, I had to ride back down to meet with the class. 2 instructors and 12 noobs. Guess the class size was not that big, good deal again, imo.
Man, I should've stayed up on the mountain, now we all riding back up to the same place. I chose to follow the female professor, I think she's cooler than Cody. Her name is Jasmine. Ty would be excited... hahaha(his wife's name is Jamin).
First thing we learned was to tie our front foot to the board. Damn it's hard. There's 2 notch to tie, and somehow I messed up, trying to tie the front notch with the back strip, I kept trying and it didn't fxxking work.... then Jasmine came over and did it for me. Ouch, epic fail!!!! Fail index = 0. Where is my fail-o-meter??
As a noob and slow learner, I found out it's hard to do all the left turn, right turn, After 30min or so of struggles and learning, we took the magic carpet to the top of a beginner "SLOPE". First try: fell 3 times from the top to the bottom, I say about 20 - 30 yards... ouch... and without the gloves it hurt to fall on your hands as you sliding around trying to slow yourself down. Jasmine saw me without any gloves, so she loaned me her gloves with holes, well, at least better than nothing.
As days went on... everytime I went from top to bottom, I fell at least once, still don't get it on how to slow down... sigh... at least the snow was soft so I can fall on it without hurting my rear. Good times good times.... Jasmine said I would be good at right turning.. I think she's lying to me... lol.
BTW, did I mention it's getting hotter and hotter when you snowboard? I ended up only wear a shirt and the jacket, took the thermal off. Even then, I can't zip up my jacket, it's just too damn hot. I was sweating and sweating.
Somehow my friend wanted to record a video clip for me to slide down (with falling), now everyone can see how noob jon failed and fell.... good stuff.
