WAMU = EPIC FAIL

Author: Jon aka Poor Guy /

I was actually looking for a new bank on Thursday morning. But after lunch I totally forgot about it. Then when I got home last night, I saw WAMU got shut down by FDIC. That would have suck so bad if my money are not covered.

I wonder if I have a trading account with ETrade, do FDIC cover the $100k limit for both my saving and trading account? What about ROTH IRA account? Geez. Hiding money under the mattress still the safest!!!

Back to work!!

2nd day back to work from Ike. No such mood to work on anything, or has anything to work on at all.

Recap:
Saturday (9/13/2008): Ike made the landing.... and rain and wind hit my window (I slept right next to it) like millions of needles hitting it nonstop... didn't sleep well, and it was crazy hot, and I spent much of the day sleeping anyway.

Sunday: as hot as Saturday, it's like 80s or 90s? without any wind, lucky my friend has power and I went there to recharge my phone batteries and play some long missing wow. 2 days without internet/wow is like living in hell....

1. Home still without power. It's been 7 days and counting. Report said it would be back by next Monday, that would be 9 days without power. WTF. It's 9 times worse than what I expected

2. Million Thanks to Mandy to let the evacuees to stay for a few days. Good food and good TV to watch, good time to hang out with u all, although sleeping on the floor was kind of rough :P

3. WoW still go on... except no raiding. Leveling with Ty has been fun.

New Braunfels tubing

Author: Jon aka Poor Guy /

Water is damn cold!!! That's the first thing I would tell you. and it's hard to get on your tube. I just jumped high and landed into my tube. The whole tubing thing starts off pretty slow, took us quite a few minutes to float away from the starting area.

I found out it's not the safest thing to do if you don't know how to swim. I felt off my tube twice. First time I tried to just sat into my tube but the water just pushed me away from the tube. I fell into the water again... mother fxxxxx. I had to JUMP into it.

As we went for the 2nd run, we tied every tubes together with some stronger strings. It didnt't work too well as the rock still cut the string and we got seperated into 2 groups about 50 feet apart. My group (kit, amy, allen, and myself) got stuck with some rocks as kit's tube bottom started falling apart. His tube got pushed into some high rock and flipped over and mine flipped over too. I just got thrown into the deep water. I was totally got shoot away from my tube. I tried to touch the bottom of the water, but I couldn't feel anything under my feet. I just had to swim back to the surface and get a deep breath as I get nervous... hohoho. I saw the other group ahead of me so I just swam toward them.

After struggled so much just to get back on the land, I saw Kit whole body was shaking. (Remember he was thrown into water also). That's when my body fat became useful. hohoho.

I totally agree with Chinese phrase 欺山莫欺水. (Thx Kala for translation)

Riding to New Braunfels

Author: Jon aka Poor Guy /

Such a busy weekend. I went to New Braunfels with waterfish friends.

Woke up around 7:30 and it's not a very hot morning. I arrived at Andy's house at 8:10, 5 minutes ahead of our meeting time. We waited 10 minutes and that fxxk tard kevin hasn't shown up. We called him up and he's still sleeping in his xxxxxxx bed. Good times, late as usual.

Then Andy decided to go fill up the tank first. 10 minutes later, Mr. Late called us and asked where we at, and he couldn't find Andy's house. OMG, Mr. Late couldn't remember where Andy lives..................... sigh.......

We supposed to meet Manbro at Sams on I-10. So we just told manbro to take off first instead of waiting for us. On our way to New Braunfels, Mr Late started complaining he's hungry and wanted his damn sandwich from panpan, who's riding in Manbro's car.

Since some of us want to take a bio break as well, so we stopped at one of the gas station so Mr. Late can get his preorder sandwich. No excuse for being late, I should just take his sandwich and 2 bite it and finish it right in front of him.

Kala Birthday

Author: Jon aka Poor Guy /

We all celebrated Kala's __th birthday at Carmelo's this past Friday. Kala invited her whole family, including some bears and friends inside the luggage to sneak into the restaurant. I felt like I am one of those ingorant travelers in the airport got asked by some drug smuggler to help carrying something illegal into the country.

Anyway, I think there's like 24 "smugglers" + a handful of real person presents. Total about 31 friends and family... hmm.. exceed the birthday girl's age.. we should kick one person out....

Labor Day weekends

Author: Jon aka Poor Guy /

Man, it's Wednesday already and I am still not recovered from holiday mood. Spent quite a lot this weekend, but probably less than expect with the water ski trip got canceled. Yumcha + bowling + dinner. Oh, almost forgot I got a haircut and took my friend to Japanese restaurant on Friday night. Poor guy back to ground zero....

and Stupid bowling shoes: The bottom of my bowling shoes fell apart. WTF!!! I needed to spend extra $3.25 to rent a pair of bowling shoes at the bowling alley. *CRY*

And then going to rich people birthday party this coming Friday... going to negative territory. I heard rich people have a $10 coupon.... but only for the entire table... everyone save a dollar!!!
