"This is why I usually keep all of my Hearts of Darkness under my mattress at home -- the banks just aren't safe." Good stuff. I know rich guy Dave does that with his cash. Good times good times. The rich Kala should learn from those people hiding valuable stuffs under the mattress too!!! hahaha

How to: validate XML doc in memory with Schema

Author: Jon aka Poor Guy / Labels:

First come across this when I try to validate the xml.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms162371.aspx
But it doesn't solve my problem with in memory xml validation. So I change around the code a bit and come out with this mess, but it works.

try{
//First load the xml and the schema using xmldocument
XmlDocument myXML = new XmlDocument();
myXML.PreserveWhitespace = true;
myXML.Load(textBoxValidateXML.Text);

XmlDocument mySchema = new XmlDocument();
mySchema.PreserveWhitespace = true;
mySchema.Load(textBoxSchema.Text);

//decrypt the file
Encryption myDecrypt = new Encryption("wow");
myDecrypt.Decrypt(myXML);
myDecrypt.Decrypt(mySchema);

//add the schema to the xml
myXML.Schemas.Add("http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema", new XmlTextReader(new System.IO.StringReader(mySchema.InnerXml)));
//add validation event handler
ValidationEventHandler eventHandler = new ValidationEventHandler ValidationEventHandler);
//validate
myXML.Validate();
}
catch(Exception ex) {
//error handler
}

---------------------------------------
the ValidationEventHandler can be very simple

static void ValidationEventHandler(object sender, ValidationEventArgs e)
{
switch (e.Severity)
{
case XmlSeverityType.Error:
MessageBox.Show("ERROR: {0}", e.Message);
break;
case XmlSeverityType.Warning:
MessageBox.Show("Warning {0}", e.Message);
break;
}
}

How to load XML document from memory to Dataset

Author: Jon aka Poor Guy / Labels:

Came across this forum post while I try to find the solution. That's exactly what I try to do!!!
http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1570786&SiteID=1

basically, in C#

//create the xmlDoc
XmlDocument xmlDoc = new XmlDocument();
xmlDoc.PreserveWhitespace = true;
xmlDoc.Load(SOME_XML_FILE);
//insert your decryption code here

DataSet ds = new DataSet();
ds.ReadXml(new XmlTextReader(new System.IO.StringReader(xmlDoc.InnerXml)));

Pretty easy, isn't it?

Raid Week of Aug 19 2008

Author: Jon aka Poor Guy / Labels:

Very very smooth. Down the first 4 boss in Mount Hyjal within 2 hours, all 1 shot.
2nd half is not as fun, another long and dragging learning night on Archie. At least a little bit of improvement.

Drop: Finally got something useful Chronicle of the Dark Secrets. Maybe time to respec back to fire with Hellfire-Encased Pendent in the bank?

Don't mess with the gnomes

I was leveling my lvl 34 pally in Shimmering Flats on Saturday. While I was sitting down eating food and rebuffing, a lvl 48 hunter and a lvl 28 hunter shot at me. I tried to run but they just chase me down. That pissed me off b/c they waste my potion and food buff. Also, it's a freaking long walk from the graveyard!!! After I got my corpse back, I ran to Gadgetzan and picked up the flight path and got on my gnome warrior to teach these 2 huntards a lesson. I port to Cavern of Time and ran up to Shimmering Flats and saw both of them right at where they ganked my poor pally. I charged in at one of their pet and hit hamstring. I am not sure if the charge kill it or the hamstring buff the head off. Then I ran to the hunter and just killed him before I can hit Moral Strike. I changed stance and intercept the other hunter's pet and buzzed the other hunter also.

I sticked around and saw them revive their pet. hahaha... I charged in on them and thunder clap kill their little pets. Good times good times. I hope their pet will get unhappy, I am not sure.

Rinse and repeat for 1 more time and I guessed the lvl 28 huntard got smart and not even came back to pick up his a$$ corpse. I ran around and saw the lvl 48 again. He dropped a frozen trap when I charged at his poor cat. The cat ran a few feet and died from Deep Wound. LOL. Damn I forgot to put on my pvp trinket.... oh well, it's funny to watch his cat die while I was frozen. Once I was out, I changed stance and intercept the a$$hole.

I waited for another 10minutes or so while watching Olymphics. Guess those 2 fxxk tard called it for the night.

I logged back about a few hours later and their corpses are still there... good stuff. Lesson taught. Don't mess with the gnomes.

kara Run on 8-13-2008

Author: Jon aka Poor Guy / Labels:

Easy and 1 shot every boss. That's how it supposed to be done!!! Although not optimal, but with a group of alt finished karazhan in 3 hours is pretty good. 22 badges + 8 badges from the fun run on Gruul + Mag. I spent almost 4 hours tonight for 30 badges. Very effective. I like it!!!

Time to study for tonight raid at Black Temple.

Gurtogg http://www.raidguru.net/index.php?page=28
It's a not so complicated 2 phase fight but requires some knowledge on how you plan to tank him if you get felrage. Good advice in the above strat.

The Reliquary of Souls http://www.raidguru.net/index.php?page=29
look very complicated..... better read again.

Bank of America

Author: Jon aka Poor Guy / Labels:

I came across this site and it's quick funny and true.
http://consumerist.com/tag/bank-of-america/?i=5019899&t=after-one-error-too-many-man-places-i-hate-bank-of-america-banner-on-his-house
It probably not just Bank of America but I have heard too many true story about this big corporation screwing the poor people like Jon.

As I looked across the site, I found something interesting...
http://consumerist.com/5036696/time-warner-cable-responds-to-world-of-warcraft-disconnections
Poor guy!!! Got screwed by TWC. You need to do the same thing as the BoA guy did. TWC probably will do the same thing as Comcast and removed the bad router from the routing table or some sort of thing to keep you happy.

The only way to get this big corporation to fix our little consumer problem is to break through the CSR. Most of the CSR know shxt about their services. You have to get to the bigger guy to get the problem resolved. Most CSR just read their scripts to you on the phone and at least half of the time their scripts won't fix the problem.

Running Karazhan with lots of noob

Author: Jon aka Poor Guy / Labels:

It's one of the most frustrating night in wow life. It's worse than the 28 wipes in Archie the other night!!!
First, I saw some new 70s looking for a kara run on Saturday night. I knew it wouldn't end good so I resisted to sign up for it. Then my friend kept telling me to go. I told him that's lots of noob there and it wouldn't be pretty. Well, I am just too soft ear. I ended up going as off tank with my MS warrior.
We wiped at Midnight... oh my god.. what's happening? haven't wiped at that boss for ages... these people didn't know what threat is. They pulled aggro right off the bat. STOP DPS when tank doesn't have enough aggro!!!! WTF!! Another problem is the stupid shxtty pally healer. My friend (who's MT for the night) said he received 600 flash heal when he's taking 3k damage. It ain't happening.
Shortly after Maiden, Gedruid had to go b/c his wife need him on the bed... good stuff. Shouldn't come if you only had 2 hours for a noob kara raid. I understood that FUN stuff on the bed is more important.
Anyway, after so many death and wipes we somehow managed to make it to Opera. The worst boss we could get would be Romulo and Julianne. Fxxk, we got that stupid boss. I had to offtank the bxtch. We were doing good until all the noob not listening on vent. We called out to switch dps to Romulo and 2 noobs never listen and kill Julianne when Romulo at 40%... OMG...

After the 3rd wipe at the boss I thought we are done for the night when the trash respawned. Those dummy still wanted to keep going, oh well, guess I would kept playing.... The very first trash pull... we wiped b/c people ignoring the aggro issue again. Sigh.. what can I say, the MT called it the night and I quickly left the group. My repairing bill is 55G... thx for so many wipes!!

Note to myself: don't run with 3+ noob at a time. 2 is the max u can handle.

Surefooted enchant dropped.. not for me

Author: Jon aka Poor Guy / Labels:

Ran Karazhan on Friday night with some other guildies. When we got to the famous enchanting pattern drop place right before Opera, we pulled the mob as usual. We all said it's just a rumor that the recipe would drop b/c we've been here millions of times and never see it dropped. Well, guess what, it dropped!! Thought I would have taken it, rite.... but wait.....

At that time I was watching Olymphic so I didn't turn my computer volume up at all. I typed in the raid chat said I would take the recipe but I don't see anyone response. and people started heading in the boss room. I quickly picked up the recipe and ran to the room.
After the boss fight someone whispered me what's happen to the recipe, and I saw Plunk saying in our own TOA channel that someone was yelling in vent. Then I started paying attention to the vent again. Ended up that fxxking noob hunter alt want the enchanting. He claimed he rolled a 67 and we should roll for the enchant. Oh well... I rolled a 61 and lost. So I had to file a petition and gave up my enchant to a noob hunter. Really.. why alt would roll against a main??

I am not really happy about it, but what can I say? Fair roll, right? Guess I have to wait for other time.... sucker!!!

Kael is DOWN!!!!

Author: Jon aka Poor Guy / Labels:

Man oh man. What can I say?!?! Kael is down!!

We started off with a very positive attempt right off the bat last night, a much better attempt than all the Tuesdays attempts. We actually killed all the weapon adds and got to see Kael at the very first try. We followed this strategy with minor changes.

After a night long of positive and improving progress with AoE down all the weapons before the advisors respawn. we finally killed Kael in our 9th try of the night. I haven't been any more excited than any of the previous bosses we have killed so far. Killing Kael also wrapped up our raid team T5 content. We will move on and continue our efforts on the remaining T6 content.

Way to go OSRT!!! http://wowwebstats.com/gy33kfkddhida

Finally the rich Kala bought me dinner... and she's hiding all night long not showing her face. Guess rich people only need to show the wallet, not public appearance. hahaha... more more... I want more free food!!
